Loved reading this, made me tear up. I don’t want this magic to end — Instead of doomscrolling the news I’ve been Knicks-scrolling all the Instagram reels of fans celebrating and the slow mos of Brunson making his shots. With apols to Mets-fan Ben, this team reminds me of the 2001 Yankees, who gave me something positive to think about after 9/11. This team is a respite from all the ugliness unleashed by you know who. Knicks in five!

You did it again . . . I’m beginning to see you as my oasis, my port in the storm. I’ll be 82 next month, only member of my family not born on the East Coast. I decided to watch the basketball finals for the first time this year. Knew a bit of the Knicks’ history. My husband used to watch and I developed a love of Patrick Ewing, not even sure why. Your story made me weep in that good, cleansing way. In these times I have felt like Alice or to use a great title, a stranger in a strange land. The last time I commented, I said you help me get my feet back on the ground. Once again, dear Ben Rhodes, you are the spark, just like your beloved Knicks, that rekindles connection. I believe!
